Game Ideas

Idea One

My first game idea is for a foddian / rage game based on the movement mechanics of super monkey ball. In order to tie it to the theme it would have a second mechanic where the player would break free from their ball into a goop, to do a jump upwards, reforming when landing. This goop mechanic would allow the player to go through grates that are not accessible when in a ball, allowing for more complex level design. This game would see the player trying to move up a tower or pipe and if there is enough time or the mechanics aren't complicated I can see multiple different blockers to stop you from climbing such as running water that pushes the ball or bounce panels that send the ball flying.

The target audience for this type of games is either streamers of fans of the genre. I think this would be successful because it has two simple but entertaining mechanics but it can be easily expanded to created a better and more varied game. The game also features wide array of tasks allowing more people to more easily work on it. A prototype for this would probably focus on the movement and the viability of climbing upwards with said movement.

Idea Two

My second game concept is based on the Panopticon which is a prison that is designed so that it appeared like the guards were always looking at the prisoners. My game would be a tower defense in somewhat the same style of Tesla Wars, which is an old mobile game. The game would center around a guard in the tower during a prison break where you would have to stop the prisoners from escaping, and breaking from of the system. The gameplay would involve a loop of defending a round of prisoners and then buy upgrades for you prison.

Panopticon

This game would not be very viable for our timeframe as balancing and level design would take too long to get into an enjoyable state. The target audience for this game would be teenagers and young adults as I feel like the themes of the games would draw in that age group. A prototype of this game would focus of level design and finding the right perspective to play the game from.
